Revell

Fleming H. Revell was twenty-one when he set up on Madison Street, Chicago, in 1870, taking over the paper Everybody's Paper from his brother-in-law, the evangelist D. L. Moody.¹ The Great Chicago Fire destroyed the business in 1871 and he began again; within thirty years the firm was the largest American publisher of religious books, with offices in Chicago, New York, Toronto, London, and Edinburgh, and a list running from Spurgeon and Hannah Whitall Smith to Corrie ten Boom and Catherine Marshall.² It is now an imprint of Baker Publishing Group and marked its 150th year in 2020.³
