Our Mission

The Anthology of Christian Literature catalogues the publishing history of Christian writing — from the Church Fathers through the Reformation to the present — not just as texts, but as the specific editions, translations, and printings they have actually appeared in.

A work rarely exists in just one form. The same treatise might survive in a Victorian Edinburgh translation, a pirated American reprint, a modern critical edition, and a paperback reissue decades later — each with its own translator, publisher, and physical details. For collectors and researchers alike, knowing which edition you are reading, or holding, is often as important as knowing the text itself. That is what this catalogue is built to track: series, volumes, translators, editors, printings, bindings — down to whether a particular run shipped with a dust jacket.

Everything you can browse here — the full catalogue, search, and the articles on publishing history — is free. The one part that isn’t is My Library, which lets you keep an online record of your own physical collection — matched to the exact edition you own, not just the title.
