- Notes
- Among the earliest volumes in the series, and winner of the 1989 Gold Medallion for commentaries. One printing, jointly published: the back cover carries both barcodes, Eerdmans' 9780802836366 and the British 9780851117478. Sources give three different lengths — 578, 640 and 715 pages. The 578 here follows the Library of Congress collation, xii + 578, which is the only one of the three backed by a catalogue record rather than a retailer's listing. Superseded within the series by Colin Kruse's Romans of 2012, also catalogued here.
