Reformed Expository Commentary

P&R's expository series, written from the pulpit rather than the study: the volumes are worked-up preaching, aimed as much at a congregation as at a scholar, and make no attempt to be technical commentary. The publisher sets out four commitments — biblical, in giving a full exposition of the text; doctrinal, in holding to the Westminster Standards; redemptive-historical, in reading the Old Testament toward Christ; and practical, in pressing the text on readers now.¹ Richard D. Phillips and Philip Graham Ryken edit the series, with Iain M. Duguid over the Old Testament volumes and Daniel M. Doriani over the New, each volume passing through both a series editor and its testament editor.¹ One volume has been withdrawn, Derek W. H. Thomas's Acts, catalogued here with the sources for that on its own page.²
