Kierkegaard's Writings

est. 1978 · 26-volume set (Volume 12, the Concluding Unscientific Postscript, issued in two physical books, for 27 in all); the definitive English translation of Kierkegaard's published authorship, general-edited by Howard V. and Edna H. Hong. Each volume was issued first in cloth with a dust jacket and later reprinted in paperback.

Princeton University Press's complete, standard English translation of everything Kierkegaard published in his lifetime plus several posthumous works, produced between 1978 and 2000 under the general editorship of Howard V. and Edna H. Hong. Most volumes were translated and annotated by the Hongs themselves; a handful — Early Polemical Writings, The Concept of Anxiety, Prefaces: Writing Sampler, and Letters and Documents — were entrusted to other Kierkegaard scholars. Volume XXVI, the Cumulative Index, closes the set.
