An Exposition of the Epistle to the Hebrews

One author — John Owen · est. 1992 · 7-volume set · ISBN 9780851516196

Owen's single largest work, and a companion to — but a separate product from — Banner of Truth's 16-volume Works reprint (catalogued separately). Originally issued across four installments between 1668 and 1684 (the last completed after Owen's death), then reorganized into the now-standard seven-volume division by William H. Goold for his 1850s collected edition (vols. 18-24 there); this cloth-bound Banner reprint reproduces that same seven-volume division unchanged. Banner's set-level listing gives 1991 and its individual volume listings give 1992 for the reprint date — likely a bundle-SKU-vs-volume cataloguing nuance rather than a real conflict. Together, this set and Banner's 16-volume Works reprint cover the same 24-volume scope as Goold's original edition, just sold as two separate products. A rare-book dealer's listing for a specific 1862 Johnstone & Hunter printing of this same seven-volume division states it is "the source material that was photolithographed (copied)" to produce this modern Banner edition, and that the 1862 printing is itself the same as a T&T Clark publication of the same content — i.e. Goold's edition continued to be printed under both imprints for years after its 1855 debut, with no fresh editorial work involved.
