The Geneva Series of Commentaries

Old & New Testaments · ongoing · 27 titles in print

The Banner of Truth Trust’s long-running line of cloth-bound expository commentaries, reprinting the standard Reformed and Puritan expositors in uniform format — Hodge on Romans and Ephesians, Haldane on Romans, Greenhill on Ezekiel, Manton on James, Bridges on Proverbs, Plumer and Dickson on the Psalms, alongside Calvin. Twelve of the titles are Calvin’s, reprinting the Calvin Translation Society’s Victorian text (catalogued separately): Genesis and Daniel, each gathering two of the original volumes into one; the five-volume Jeremiah and Lamentations; and the five-volume Minor Prophets. All twenty-seven titles are now catalogued. The series spans four centuries of exposition, from Davenant on Colossians (1627) and Greenhill on Ezekiel (1645) to E. J. Young on Daniel (1949), the one modern commentary among them.1
