Baker Exegetical Commentary on the New Testament

Baker Academic's flagship exegetical series on the Greek New Testament, aimed at readers who work from the original text but written to stay usable by preachers. Every volume gives the author's own translation, a passage-by-passage exegesis, and a closing set of additional notes on textual and grammatical questions, all set in the shaded-box layout the series is known for. Moisés Silva was the founding general editor and his Philippians the first volume; editorial oversight passed to Robert W. Yarbrough and Robert H. Stein, and latterly to Yarbrough and Joshua W. Jipp.¹ The set is still being filled in and revised: second editions of Romans, 1 Corinthians, 1 Peter and Philippians have appeared, and Thomas R. Schreiner's Revelation (2023) now stands alongside Grant R. Osborne's earlier volume on the same book. One volume is no longer available at all — Andreas J. Köstenberger's John was withdrawn by the publisher in 2017 over unattributed borrowings from D. A. Carson, and is catalogued here with the sources for that on its own page.²
