History
A brief history
Zondervan was started in 1931 by brothers Pat and Bernard Zondervan in a Michigan farmhouse.1 After fending off a hostile takeover, it was sold in 1988 to Harper & Row — later HarperCollins — and today operates within HarperCollins Christian Publishing.2 Its Zondervan Academic imprint produces commentaries, biblical-language tools, and textbooks.
