History
A brief history
Westminster John Knox Press was formed in 1988 by the merger of Westminster Press and John Knox Press, coinciding with the reunion of the northern and southern Presbyterian churches.1 It is the academic and trade imprint of the Presbyterian Publishing Corporation, the publishing arm of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), and issues the Library of Christian Classics — including the standard Battles translation of Calvin's Institutes.2
