History
A brief history
The publishing arm of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, the body formed on 1 July 2001 when the National Conference of Catholic Bishops merged with the United States Catholic Conference.1 It issued the American editions of official Catholic texts, including the second English edition of the Catechism of the Catholic Church held here, and handled the conference's intellectual property. It ceased operating in 2022.2 No source consulted gives the year the publishing arm itself was founded, which is why no founding date is recorded above.
