History

A brief history

P&R traces to 1930, when Samuel G. Craig — with J. Gresham Machen and James Schrader — founded the Presbyterian and Reformed Publishing Company to give conservative Presbyterianism a voice; its first venture was a journal Craig titled Christianity Today.1 The house became a leading publisher of Reformed theology and apologetics, issuing works by Machen, Cornelius Van Til, and later John Frame; it is now based in Phillipsburg, New Jersey.2
