History
A brief history
The Navigators began in 1933 as a discipleship ministry among American sailors, and in 1975 established NavPress as its publishing arm.12 The list is built around discipleship and the Christian life rather than the academy - Jerry Bridges's The Pursuit of Holiness, held here, has been its most durable title - and it also publishes Eugene Peterson's paraphrase The Message. Since 2013 its manufacturing, warehousing, marketing and sales have been handled by Tyndale House under a publishing alliance, with NavPress keeping editorial control.3
