History
A brief history
Founded in 1988 as St Matthias Press and Tapes, out of the ministry of Phillip Jensen and his editor Tony Payne at St Matthias, Centennial Park, in Sydney.1 It took the name Matthias Media as it grew, and its list is characteristically Australian evangelical - short, practical, aimed at the ordinary church member rather than the seminary, with the Bible-study series and the magazine The Briefing beside the books.1 Payne has written more than thirty of its titles himself, among them The Trellis and the Vine, the one Matthias volume in this catalogue, written with Colin Marshall.1
