History
A brief history
Christian's Library Press was founded in 1979 by Gerard Berghoef and Lester DeKoster — Berghoef the president of a Grand Rapids furniture company and a long-serving elder in the Christian Reformed Church, DeKoster a Calvin College professor and former editor of The Banner — as a publishing resource on Christian leadership, work and stewardship.1 After DeKoster's death in 2009 the imprint was acquired by the Acton Institute, also of Grand Rapids, in 2010.2 Under Acton it became the vehicle for a sustained programme of Abraham Kuyper translations, including the Common Grace project undertaken with Kuyper College.3 The volume catalogued here is the 2012 English edition of Kuyper's The Christian Family.
