History
A brief history
The academic imprint of Kregel Publications, which Louis Kregel began in Grand Rapids in 1909 selling Dutch-language Christian books imported from the Netherlands.1 His son Robert took over in 1949, renamed the firm Kregel Publications, and moved it into publishing proper with reprints of classic works — the oldest of the four Dutch-founded Christian publishing houses clustered around Grand Rapids.2
