Notes: Baxter wrote this in 1656 out of his ministry at Kidderminster, and it has been the standard Puritan book on pastoral work ever since. Tim Cooper, who has written on the quarrel between Baxter and John Owen, has cut and modernised it here; foreword by Chad Van Dixhoorn. Baxter's unabridged works are held elsewhere in this catalogue, and Owen's in six distinct sets. No contents list is published; it awaits a photograph.
