- Withdrawn from print by Baker Academic in 2017. Köstenberger himself brought the problem to the publisher: the commentary carried a series of unattributed references to D. A. Carson's Pillar commentary on John, traced to notes a research assistant had taken on Carson roughly twenty years earlier and then reused across later projects. Köstenberger apologised to Carson, made restitution to him and to his publisher, and said he intended a fresh edition. Zondervan separately withdrew a volume of its Illustrated Bible Commentary containing his work on the same Gospel. Copies already sold remain in circulation, which is why the volume is catalogued here rather than deleted.
